Oven Baked Garlic Bread
Homemade Oven Baked Garlic Bread
Ingredients You'll Need
Let's Get Started!
- Grab your French Baguette and let’s get ready to transform this ordinary loaf into something truly tasty! Cut the Baguette diagonally into as many pieces of your desired thickness. Remember not to cut them too thick or too thin.
- To make the mixture for our Garlic Butter we’ll need around 2/3 of a 1.5 oz shot glass, which is around 20ml of Extra Virgin Olive OIl. Put this into a small bowl that you can heat up on the stove on low heat. Drop in 5g or about 1 tsp of Unsalted Butter into the Olive Oil and keep mixing until it’s dissolved properly and turn off the heat. Let this cool down while we prep the Garlic for the next step.
- While our Garlic Butter cools, remove the skins of 3 Garlic cloves and chop them up as finely as you can. Once you’ve finished, drop the finely chopped Garlic into the Garlic Butter mixture. We can’t promise this will keep the Vampires away, they might even be tempted to come and take a bite from the alluring smell alone once it’s cooked! Anyway grab yourself a baking tray, non-stick would be ideal.
- Now place your sliced Baguette pieces onto the tray. Take a small teaspoon and give the yummy Garlic Butter mixture a stir. Simply take a small teaspoon full of the Garlic Butter ensuring you have chopped Garlic in each spoon and gently pour over the centre of each piece of Bread until you’ve used up the oil. Once that’s done you’ll need some Parsley, either you can use some in a dried form or just chop some up fresh. Simply put a pinch of Parsley onto each slice to decorate along with a light sprinkle of some dried mixed herbs to kick up the flavour!
- Don’t start eating these just yet, hold tight! For the last step lay down some of that Mozzarella Cheese we just grated onto each slice of Bread. You can use more if you really like them extra cheesy. With the right amount we’ll get a burst of Cheese, Garlic and herbs. Now just bake them up around 350 to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (about 230 degrees celcius) for around 6 minutes. You can give it a little longer if you prefer them to be extra crispy. Serve and Enjoy!

Can You Bake Garlic Bread With Oil Instead Of Butter?
Sure you can! If you have lactose intolerance or just want to avoid any extra saturated fat from the Butter you can leave it out. Butter is used to give it a richer and more creamy texture. These oven baked Breads taste great even without Butter.
Can This Be Made Vegan To Keep It Dairy Free?
Yes, certainly. Simply use the Extra Virgin Olive Oil for the base of the Garlic Butter. You can add in Vegan Butter as a replacement if you wish. Just swap the Mozzarella for a suitable plant based Cheese of your choice and that will keep it Vegan friendly.
Can You Reheat Homemade Garlic Bread?
Ideally it’s best not to as the texture of the Bread will go more hard. The taste really is not the same if you try to reheat it later on. This recipe tastes the yummiest when it’s cooked and served fresh.
