Ingredients

  • 5 Oreo biscuits (about 55 g), crushed into fine crumbs
  • 3 tbsp whole milk
  • 1 tbsp plain flour (all-purpose flour)
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Small pinch of fine sea salt
  • Optional: 1 tbsp chocolate chips or a spoonful of Nutella for the centre

Instructions

  • Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs using a food processor or by sealing them in a bag and rolling over them with a rolling pin.
  • Place the crumbs in a large microwave-safe mug or ramekin, at least 300 ml capacity, so the cake has room to rise.
  • Add the milk, flour, baking powder, oil, vanilla and salt. Stir until smooth and well mixed. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Microwave on medium-high power (about 800W) for 45 seconds to 1 minute. Stop once the top looks set but still slightly moist. If needed, add 10-second bursts until done.
  • Let the cake sit for 1 minute in the mug to finish setting.
  • Enjoy warm straight from the mug or top with ice cream, whipped cream, or an extra drizzle of chocolate sauce.
