Ingredients

  • 1 plain bagel, sliced in half
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 2 to 3 slices turkey meat
  • ½ cup freshly chopped crisp lettuce
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Butter or oil for frying

Instructions

  • Lightly toast both halves of the bagel until just golden and set aside while still warm.
  • Spread the cream cheese evenly on the cut side of both bagel halves so every bite stays creamy and the bagel does not get soggy.
  • Heat a small pan over medium heat and add a little butter or oil, then crack in the egg and cook until the whites are set and the yolk is cooked how you like it.
  • Season the egg lightly with salt and black pepper, then remove it from the pan.
  • Place the chopped lettuce on the bottom bagel half, followed by the folded turkey slices to add texture and keep the sandwich balanced.
  • Carefully place the fried egg on top, then close the sandwich with the top bagel half, press gently, and enjoy right away while warm.
