SERVINGS

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sweet potato (about 5–6 oz / 140–170g), unpeeled
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil or olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch (optional, for crispiness)

Instructions

  • Wash the sweet potato thoroughly since the peel will stay on, then dry it well.
  • Trim the ends off, then slice the potato lengthwise into slabs about ¼ to ½ inch thick.
  • Lay the slices flat and cut them into fries of the same thickness.
  • Place the fries into a mixing bowl.
  • Add the oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and cornstarch (if using).
  • Toss everything well to coat the fries evenly.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 385°F (195°C).
  • Once heated, add the fries in a single layer in the basket and shake to spread them out.
  • Air fry for about 15 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes.
  • Keep a close eye during the final minutes to avoid over-browning.
  • Remove from the air fryer when crispy and golden, then serve warm, optionally with your favourite dip.
