Here’s a few good tips on how to make great Crepes.
Smooth Batter – Having a consistent and lump free batter is key. This is why we sift the dry ingredients and once mixed in with the wet ingredients and mixed properly we put it through a Sieve again to take out any remaining lumps.
Resting – Allowing the batter to rest for just 30 minutes can make a world of difference to the finished texture of your Crepe.
Even and Thin Pouring – This is a mistake many of us can make. By tilting and swirling the batter around the pan more evenly will create a more uniform and perfect looking Crepe.
Cooking Time – Timing is key too! You can flip them over once they start to brown around the edges. Overcooking it can result in a more dry texture.
Crepe batter tends to have more liquid than Pancake batter which gives it a smoother and thinner consistency. They are also made with less Sugar than Pancakes which is ideal as that makes Crepes perfect for to enjoy sweet or savoury!
